“Work, Travel, Save, Repeat.”

We, the employees of Idea Clan, have been living too long with only Fun Fridays and other office parties gracing our work life. This time we knew what was needed to break the monotonous spell. So, we came up with an entire itinerary of Mussoorie and Rishikesh to experience the perfect office break.

The co-founders of Idea Clan, Rohit Ajmani and Sahil Walia planned a perfect office-break treat to the mountains!

First, we began with “The Queen of Hills”- Mussoorie. It is not a secret that this city holds some of the most enchanting views in India.

The rainy season proved to be the perfect escape from all the chaos to explore the hills. Soon after reaching, the drop in the temperature was something we were all looking forward to. Even though it was monsoon, exploring Mussoorie turned out to be quite peaceful. Because it sits above the mesmerizing clouds, this city was given the name- Queen of Hills!

And, the trip just didn’t end on the blissful hill station. We also scouted the most picturesque hill station, the “Yoga Capital of The World – Rishikesh” and attended the very popular Ganga aarti.

Finally, the fun part is here, have a look at what we explored in Mussoorie and Rishikesh:

Day 1

The Mall Road

The Mall Road is one of the liveliest places to stroll in Mussoorie. Being the main gateway to the “Hill Queen”, we got to see the best crowd in Mussoorie. We were amused by how various cafes, restaurants, hotels, shops, apparel stores, and other establishments thrived there.

Many went shopping and bought beautiful accessories and a lot of other souvenirs for themselves. After exploring the prime attractions and remnants of English architecture we also got gift items for our loved ones.

DJ Night

After reaching back from the mall road, we hit the dance floor the first night. The neon lights bouncing on the wall just hit the right spot. It was all made possible, thanks to the amazing venue. This funky night surrounded by the best people made the night even more fun! Everybody got their foot-tapping right and had a lot of fun!

Many songs were played and everybody danced to different beats while enjoying the drinks. After dancing continously all night, a lot of people could not catch their breaths, but that did not stop them from enjoying the night. Our hearts felt like nails beating out of our chests.

Day 2

Trekking

The next morning at 5 am, we all gathered to visit one of the most peaceful and secluded tourist attractions in Mussoorie. We all decided to trek to George Everest. It offers spectacular views of the snow-clad mountains, Himalayan peaks, and panoramic views of the Doon Valley.

While marching towards George Everest peak we found the route filled with small loose stones that were slippery yet beautiful. We just could not take our eyes off of the mesmerizing views of the hills. It also helped us reflect on our beautiful journey that we call- life!

Lal Tibba & Cafes

After trekking through the hills, we explored more of Mussoorie by visiting Lal Tibba. This popular tourist attraction calmed our senses and made us feel more alive.

We also explored a few well-known cafes such as Landour Bakehouse and Cafe de Landour with mind-blowing views and delicious food. Exploring this part of Mussoorie was more like a “cherry on the top” for us. The cafes had live bands, delicious food, scenic beauty, and much more to offer other than the crisp winter air.

Live Band

The live band added aesthetic pleasure to the trip. There were a few vocalists who sang songs of different genres. The most liked songs were obviously from Bollywood and Retro. We all jammed together on Sufi, Fusion, Indie-pop, Folk, Soft Rock, and Semi-classical.

After enjoying the unrivaled live music with the great Mussoorie band we all quenched our desire for different music.

Day 3

The trip didn’t end there, we decided to explore another part of Rishikesh. The Hideout cafe turned so well to unwind with the best of flavors and vapors. With the beautiful view of the Ganga river, we enjoyed lip-smacking cuisines to devour.

Subsequently, we attended the very popular Ganga aarti in the sacred place- Triveni Sangam.

Conclusion

All in all, the trip was just that thing that we all needed to start afresh for Q4. This trip helped us take our work boots off and wear relaxing slippers so that we can be prepared for quarter 4. It was one unforgettable trip that we surely won’t stop talking about for years to come.
